Hannah’s Story: From decades of IBS to symptom-free freedom — in just 12 weeks.

Hannah came to The Gut Clinic not just with a medical diagnosis, but with a story. Diagnosed with Crohn’s as a young teen, she’d been placed on immunosuppressants and told to avoid certain foods indefinitely. She lived with flare-ups, fear of food, and a sense that her body was "broken." By the time we met, she'd had enough. She wanted to come off her medication, get her life back, and reconnect with her gut on every level.

She came into the 12-Week Gut Health Coaching Program skeptical but hopeful.

Step 1: We Got Curious — Not Clinical

Rather than focusing on the gut alone, we zoomed out and worked holistically through:

  • Functional Testing with cutting-edge lab results- meta xplore test with Invivo labs showing surprisingly strong gut markers: no inflammation, healthy calprotectin, no parasites, and no leaky gut.
  • Microbial Mapping to assess diversity and richness, both of which were low, reflecting Hannah's history of antibiotics, ibuprofen, and restrictive eating.
  • Emotional Integration: Exploring Her Life Timeline. We identified that her most severe gut flares aligned directly with emotionally traumatic or stressful events.
  • Intuitive Coaching guiding Hannah to begin trusting her body again, after decades of being told to fear it.

Step 2: We Tracked What Her Body Was Saying

Together, we implemented:

âś…A tailored protocol of GOS and PHGG prebiotics, omega-3s, resistant starches (like cold potato salad), and polyphenol-rich foods (blackberries, cherries, dark chocolate). to name a few
âś…Practical food-as-medicine recipes, like collagen gummies, polyphenol ice lollies, and gentle gut-boosting snacks for her kids.
âś…In the second phase, we are now using a gentle, supported plan to begin tapering off omeprazole, with mucosal support (slippery elm) and digestive enzymes (Acid Soothe).

Step 3: Breakthrough Moments
